Chylothorax after myocardial revascularization with internal mammary graft

ABSTRACT
A rare case of chylothorax that occurred in an adult patient who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery with internal mammary graft is presented. Management included administration of fat-free diet and total parenteral nutrition. Outcome was successful. There was no indication of chylothorax recurrence during a 30 month follow-up period. Postoperative course, prevention and management of this complication is discussed based on the current literature. Pneumon 2000, 13 (3): 226-230
